That was a great challenge to design these awards to our customer- The State Environmental Service.
The State Environmental Service has implemented one of the largest and most technologically complex environmental projects in Latvia so far, cleaning Inčukalns sulfuric tar ponds from historical pollution - hazardous waste. The hazardous substance was recycled as a secondary fuel.
At the end of this ambitious project, the customer wanted to present custom gratitude awards to all parties involved.
We had to incorporate this alternative fuel in the awards. That wasn’t easy, but we found a way to achieve a visually pleasing effect by combining natural materials in the design of the awards. We used ash natural wood, clear glass and metal. The secondary fuel we embedded in a glass cube. Glass cube we placed between the vertical parts of wood and metal.
Each award was personalised by printing directly onto the wood.
